SOS Goals

SOS works collaboratively to create a strategic approach to aquaculture that we believe will achieve two fundamental goals:

1. Protect B.C.'s wild salmon stocks and the marine environment from the negative impacts of open net-cage salmon farms, and allow B.C. owned nature based businesses, First Nations and local communities dependent on healthy wild salmon stocks to thrive.


2. Establish B.C. as a leader in creating a globally renowned, stable and viable finfish aquaculture industry that is positioned to take advantage of a growing and evolving market demand for both wild seafood and sustainable aquaculture products, while creating jobs in local communities and developing a new equipment manufacturing industry.
